Week 10: Time to evaluate challenge…

For the Week 10: TIme to evaluate challenge my friend Riley evaluated my blog. I asked Riley “What were your first impressions of this blog?” He responded with “Wow, Your posts are filled with meaning!” Then I asked Riley “What captured your attention?” He said “Your polls captured my attention because they made you think and they were fun questions! “Then I asked “What distracted you on the blog?” He said “One thing that distracted me on your blog was your Flag Counter because it is bright red!” I then asked “What suggestions can you give me to improve my blog?” He responded with “He said one suggestion I can give you to improve your blog is to change your background.” In conclusion, I am going to change my background!

Week 9 Student Blogging Challenge

For the Week 9 Student Blogging Challenge: Count Out Three you were asked to leave 9 comments on 9 different posts, hopefully from 9 students not in your class. I commented on Minnie’s Blog, Tessa’s Blog, and Chloe’s Blog. Most of the blogs I visited were from Australia. My favorite blogs have a lot of very carefully written posts and some widgets but not too many! On Minnies Blog, she wrote a great post on gymnastics and how she practices every day from 4:00 to 7:00 which really impressed me!

Even on a movie set, you can learn…

For the Week 8: Game Preparation Challenge I decided to do activity #2:

One of the coolest learning experiences I’ve ever had is when I went my Dad’s movie set while he was producing a film. Being surrounded by tons of actors and a huge film crew was really exciting. I learned how important it is to stay focused, organized, and respectful as those qualities are essential to make a movie set run smoothly. In fact, my Dad made a point of reminding me that making a movie is a “team sport, much like soccer.”  I definitely try to work on my focus, dedication, and respectfulness in all areas of my life as I learned from working with my Dad how crucial those qualities to success of any kind, on a set, on a team, or even in school.

©reativity is an Attitude

During the Week 7 Challenge: Too much work, no have fun I decided to do activity number 4 write a paragraph about creativity and how you are creative in your life. Technically, I am not artistic or play a musical instrument. But, I love joking around with my friends and enjoy performing. I might not perform in plays but I do enjoy making videos for class and acting in skits. Plus, since I like joking around, I have to be creative to come with a witty remark when chilling with friends. And though I do not specifically make “art”, I definitely appreciate it. I love movies, video games, and music. I think creativity is more an attitude than anything else. Creativity is about thinking outside the box, not always giving into the most obvious conclusion. Check out the latest video I made with my friend here.

Water: Needed

This is the Week 4: Make it global for the Student Blogging Challenge. When was the last time you thought about water? Or turned up your nose to using the fosit in your kitchen and chosen a bottle of water instead?

Did you know that almost 1 billion people in the world do not have access to clean water?

Charity:water is an organization that helps provides clean water in developing countries.

As charity:water says “100% of public donations directly fund water projects. Diseases from unsafe water and lack of basic sanitation kill more people every year than all forms of violence, including war. 90% of the 30,000 deaths that occur every week from unsafe water and unhygienic living conditions are of children under five years old. Many of these diseases are preventable. In Africa alone, people spend 40 billion hours every year just walking for water, most of the time it’s women and children walking to get it. When was the last time you walked miles to a pond to fetch some water to drink?”

One thing we can do to help charity: water is pledge our birthdays: at your next birthday party ask your friends to donate money to charity: water instead of gifts.

We take our access to clean water for granted everyday, why not sacrifice a little bit for people who could really use the help?

Everyday my passion for music grows. Currently, my favorite genre of music is rap, I find the lyrics to be fun and, often, inspiring. The best rap songs usually tell a story about how the artist struggled to get threw hard times. Not to mention, the beats are sweet too! Right now, I do not have a favorite rap artist because I generally like all types of rap. However, I also like funny songs too,  if you are having a bad time a good laugh always helps. I look forward to learning more about music and other genres I am not familiar with at the moment. There’s so much more music to explore and enjoy. Let me know what music you enjoy listening to or maybe a cool artist I should check out.
